Employee engagement

Employee engagement is a key strategy and over the period April to Oct 2018, the following engagement activities were conducted:

  • 7 (seven) Tea Sessions with CEO in Yangon involving 87 employees
  • 2 (two) Tea Sessions with CEO in Mandalay involving 60 employees
  • Town Hall meeting and staff movie day was conducted in Yangon on 4th August 2018
  • Town Hall meeting and staff movie day was conducted in Mandalay on 26th August 2018
  • Managers Conference in Inle Lake on 18th to 21st Oct 2018

 

Employee turnover rate

 

Turnover over period April to Sept 2018 was 14.07% against target of 15%

 

Absenteeism rate

 

4.60% measured against working days.

 

Fatality rate

 

No fatality was reported by employees at the work place or in the course of duty.

 

Training

 

  • 578 participated over 6 formal training courses over period April to Sept 2018.
  • On-the-job training is also a key component of UAB culture and this is conducted on an on-going basis.

 

Career development/appraisal

  • Appraisal sessions for all staff from the grade of Driver to Senior manager were conducted by their supervisors in Sept 2018 and a performance grading allotted to each staff.
  • Counselling on staff performance and career development was conducted on each staff during the appraisal process.
